Exploring movement and energy
My hands tell me what I should draw.
I created 100 sketches guided by the ideas of Bold, Fast and Rough. Through that process, I eventually arrived at Sumo.

Line Studies
Reducing forms to essential lines
Before painting, I reduce movement and form to their essential lines.
This method originated in my automotive design process, where lines were used to create speed, strength and emotion.
The same approach became the foundation of both Human Flow and SUMO Kinetic Energy.

To ensure objective evaluation, I created an evaluation sheet –similar to the methods used in automotive designーto identify areas for revision and incorporate those changes into the artwork.
